PARTA Membership
PARTA and IRTA are affiliated, but separate organizations. Each promotes membership in the other and each is more effective with joint members. PARTA works for retired teachers at the local level and brings many of its members together in monthly meetings. IRTA represents its members by working on pension and other teacher retirement issues at the state level and providing benefits that only a large state organization can do.
The membership year in PARTA is from January through December. The first annual PARTA dues payment covers both the year of retirement and the following year.
Beginning January 1, 2017 dues are $15 annually or $120 for life.
There are three levels of membership. Active membership includes any former teacher, nurse, librarian, secretary or public or private schools or colleges, or a spouse of a deceased member. Any person interested in education may be an Associate Member who has no voting privileges. The third level is Pre-retirement for those anticipating retirement in the next five years. Dues are the same for all three levels.
Those wishing to join may do so at any monthly meeting or you may fill in the form below and send it with the dues to the address on the form.
